UGC-NET IN OBJECTIVE MODE FROM JUNE, 2012 ONWARDS

1.
The UGC-NET will be conducted in objective mode from June 2012 onwards. The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held on the day of Examination in two separate sessions as under:

The candidates are required to obtain minimum marks separately in Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III as given below:

Only such candidates who obtain the minimum required marks in each Paper, separately, as mentioned above, will be considered for final preparation of result.
However, the final qualifying criteria for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and eligibility for Lectureship shall be decided by UGC before declaration of result.
   
3.
The syllabi of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III will remain the same.
   
4.
The candidates will be allowed to carry the carbon printout of OMR Response Sheets with them on conclusion of the examination.
   
5.
There will be no negative marking.

M.Phil Natural Resource Management 2012


Applications are invited for admission to M.Phil (Natural Resource Management)

Eligibility
The minimum qualification for all candidates shall be Post Graduate degree/ diploma or its equivalent with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks recognized by an Indian University or Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The relaxation of 5% marks at the Masters Degree (P.G) eligibility criterion shall be given to candidates belonging to SC/ST/PD category as per the guidelines of UGC.

The candidates applying to M.Phil (NRM) programme should have post graduate degree or its equivalent in the field of Science/ Engineering / Management and related Social sciences. (The equivalence will be decided by the Institute).

The candidates from outside India SAARC/Foreign countries who have obtained their masters degree from any university, outside India must provide the equivalence of the eligibility requirement which shall be 55% marks at masters Degree (PG level).

How To Apply
Interested candidates are required to submit their applications in the prescribed application form with all supporting documents mentioned in the form. Eligibility:
1. MSc (Economics):
BA / BSc in Economics / BCom / BStat / BSc (Physics or mathematics) / BTech / BE with at least a second division for Economics discipline and first division for other disciplines. The applicant must have studied mathematics at the higher secondary level or should be able to demonstrate equivalent mathematical ability.

2. MPhil / PhD (Development Studies):
MA / MSc in Economics / MStat / MSc (Physics or Mathematics or Environmental Science or Operations Research) / MBA / MTech / ME / BTech / BE with at least 55% aggregate marks for Economics discipline and 60% aggregate marks for other disciplines. Stipend:
MPhil / PhD students will receive a monthly stipend of Rs.12,000/- in the first two years. Those students, who fulfill the terms and conditions for PhD registration, would receive a monthly stipend of Rs.18,000/- after PhD registration in the third year.

Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), Bangalore has invited applications for admission to MSc "Bioinformatics & Biotechnology" course to be commenced on 18 August 2012.

Eligibility for the course:
(a) A recognised BSc degree in any branch of science or technology, viz. life sciences (agriculture, biotechnology etc.), physics, chemistry, mathematics, statistics, engineering, pharma, veterinary or medicine with minimum of 55% marks.
